I've recently tried out the 2D Unity Engine a bit and now I'm trying to get an environment running that relies on a grid. I've searched a bit around, but I'm still not sure on how to get it fully running with the following things:
- 4-way movement (left, right, up, down)
- Checking whether it's possible to move to a grid (buildings/fences/etc.)
- Smooth walking when the movement button is held down

Decided to start creating a new Tutorials series dedicated to creating clones of games using Unity3d. The first project is recreating the Pokemon game series. Currently there are 6 Tutorials but I will hopefully be releasing at least 1 new tutorial a day. After this project is finished I will gladly take suggestions for other games to clone.
